on love as strength and not weakness
Making love the bottom line doesn't make you a doormat. It doesn't mean you're compelled to do anything anyone ever asks of you. Love always gives the loving response - but sometimes the loving response is "no."
Love is not weakness, but strength. It gives us clarity, wisdom, and astuteness about people. It gives us intuitive gifts that helps us discern situations we might not otherwise understand. We never need fear that in seeking God's guidance in something, we will be led to sacrifice our own good. Sacrifice is the life we live before we dedicate ourselves to God. God is not the way to sacrifice; He is the end to sacrifice. That is how loved we are.
