filled with joy
Kaitlyn is so happy! Do you know why? She knows that Jesus loves her! She's filled with joy. That means she's happy on the inside. Jesus is the only one who can fill us with joy. He can give us joy even when we have problems. Jesus cares for us and shows us how he wants us to live. If you want to be filled with joy, ask Jesus to come into your heart. The joy that Jesus gives on the inside will show on the outside!
my power in the world will emerge from the power in my heart
My power doesn't lie in my resume or connections. My power doesn't lie in what I've done or even in what I'm doing. My power lies in my clarity about why I'm on the earth. My desire to serve God will create the means for me to do it.
God can use the flimsiest resume. He can use the smallest gifts. Whatever my gift to God, however humble it may seem, He can turn it into a might work on His behalf. My greatest gift to Him is my devotion, From that point, all doors will open.
Whatever I do today, whatever effort large or small that I exert on behalf of healing the world, can be turned into a mighty work. I dedicate my efforts - my work both personal and professional - to be used by God. I will be amazed by what He then brings forth.
i am fully present for my life today
Every moment carries within it the seeds of new beginnings, of miracles, of infinite possibility. Only my own lack of presence and awareness can keep those realities from my door.
Today I will show up for life. I will be the best that I can be. I dedicate my life to the good, the holy, and the beautiful. I will not waste my life today.
May I not be held back today by illusions of lack, obsessions about meaningless things, or thoughts of fear. May the love that is in my heart blaze forth, creating miracles for myself and everyone. May I fully present for my life today, that my presence might bless the world.
saying thank you
Jack gave Parker a gift for his birthday. "Thank you, Jack!" said Parker. Do you ever get presents? Do you remember to say thank you? It's important to say thank you when someone gives you a gift. Did you know that God gives us presents every day? He gives us our home and food. He gives us sunshine and rain. Those are all gifts! Remember to say thank you to God for everything he gives you every day.
Kaitlyn was using her umbrella because it was raining. But now the sun is shining! Have you ever seen the weather change suddenly? Sometimes it can be cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon. Sometimes it can be sunny in the morning and cloudy in the afternoon. God decides what the weather is going to be each day. God decides many other things too. That's because God always knows what is best.
on meeting limits with unlimited thought
Our power lies in meeting limited circumstances with unlimited thought. It is not what happens to us, but what we choose to think about what happens to us, that determines what will happen next.
If our circumstances tempts us to think thoughts such as, "I'm such a loser," "I will never have another chance," "It will take forever for this situation to right itself," or "I hate whoever is to blame for this," then miracles, though they are programmed into the nature of the universe, cannot make their way into our awareness. They're in the computer, but we're not choosing to download them. With every thought we think, we either summon or block a miracle.
It is not our circumstances, then, but rather our thoughts about our circumstances, that determine our power to transform them. We choose in life whether to live in victimization or in victory. We have power either way - power to use against ourselves, or power to use to free ourselves. The point is that we always have the choice.
depend on god
Kaitlyn's cat is afraid. But Kaitlyn isn't. She's depending on the hammock her daddy made. She knows it won't fall. Do you depend on your parents to do everything they can to keep you safe? When you depend on someone, you don't need to worry about things. The Bible tells us to depend on God. He promises to take care of everything for us. And God always keeps his promises.
i take responsibility for the
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. Psalm 56:3
Lord, please keep me safe and warm, even through a thunderstorm.
today i bless those i am tempted to judge
Today I think of someone I am tempted to judge, to blame, to criticize, and I remember he or she is a child of God. If any of us are beloved by God, then all of us are beloved by God. May I see all beings through the eyes of God, that I might know their innocence and mine.
Whom I am tempted to judge,
You do not judge.
May I see them as You do,
That I might judge no more.
May I see beyond the veil of guilt,
Focusing no more on the mistakes of others.
May I see instead the light of innocence
That is the truth of who they are.
